The Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority in Finland has issued a statement on the permit application for uranium recovery filed by Terrafame with the Government on 30 October 2017

Pursuant to the Nuclear Energy Act (990/1987), the multi-metal company Terrafame filed a permit application for uranium recovery with the Government on 30 October 2017. Terrafame already has the relevant chemicals permit and environmental permit.

Today, 11 June 2019, the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority in Finland (STUK) has issued its statement on the uranium recovery permit process and the related safety assessment. With the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority’s statement, the permit process will proceed to the next stage, in which the Government will make the final decision concerning the uranium recovery permit.
